Paul Runge is Managing Director of the specialised consulting firm Africa Project Access. After 30 years experience in assisting companies to access business and projects in Africa, he has developed a practical rationale and methodology that will be of value to companies and organisations.
His company supplies approximately 80 companies and organisations with early alerts of projects across a broad range of sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa. As a former diplomat, he lived in Gabon and supervised projects in the Cape Verde Islands. He spent six years with the South African Foreign Trade Organisation and led many of the first South African business delegations into other African countries following the ending of international sanctions against South Africa. In servicing his clients, he works closely with a number of Development Finance Institutions and undertakes visits to the head quarters of the World Bank and African Development Bank.
He has recently published Potholes & Profits: Business (& other) Conversations and Experiences from Africa which is an anecdotal account of his experiences in a number of African markets. He speaks English, Afrikaans, French and German, is conversant in Portuguese and has studied Zulu.
